- Prepare 1 litre tap water
- Make ready 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Get 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

- I usually get nile perch thatis already pre cut and deep fried.. And my work is just to make stew. But, if you can get fresh ones that would eveb be better, just clean well, season with salt, cut to your prefferred size and then deep fry.
- In a large sufuria or Wok, heat the oil and add chopped onions. Cook the onions until they turn to Golden brown. Add salt at this stage.
- Then add the blended tomatoes and cook for about 3 minutes
- After the tomatoes are well cooked, you can then add the 1litre tap water and let it boil for about 5 min
- Add the nile perch pre cuts and cover the sufuria while the meal is cooking… Let the nile perch boil for 15min while on high heat. Then turn the heat to low and let it simmer for another 15mins.
- At the end in the 30min or so you should be having a really thick soup.
- Serve with hot Ugali and enjoy.
