Sago Gula Melaka is one of my top favourite Malaysian desserts. I love the texture of the chewy pearl sago that is drenched in combination of sweet gula melaka (palm sugar) and fragrant santan (coconut milk). Curiously, unlike the omnipresent cendol or ice-kacang, this dessert is not widely available in Malaysian eateries.

To get started with this recipe, we must first prepare a few components. You can have sago pudding with gula melaka using 6 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you cook it.

Pour as much 'gula Melaka' syrup as you like on the sago pudding. You can easily tip over the pudding on a plate. When your sago has cooked, strain the sago and rinse with cold water to remove the starchiness. Then, spoon your sago into a bowl and allow to set in the fridge.
