The ingredients needed to make Chichinge Chhechki (Fried Snake Gourd):
- Take 4 pieces Snake Gourd chopped and half boiled
- Take Mustard oil as required
- Take 1 dry red chilli
- Get 1 teaspoon panch phoran
- Take to taste Salt
- Take 1 tablespoon mustard paste
- Prepare 2 teaspoon green chilli paste
- Take 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Get to taste Sugar
Mix everything well and cook them covered on low heat till the vegetable turns soft. Snake gourd will release enough water, so you really don't have to add any. Remove and serve with hot rice. Take the knife and rub it don't peel it.
Instructions to make Chichinge Chhechki (Fried Snake Gourd):
- Heat some oil in a wok. Add the dry red chilli and panch phoran.
- Let it splutter. Then add the half boiled snake Gourd.
- Add turmeric and salt to taste.
- Mix them very well and cover it with a lid.
- Keep it in a medium flame and saute it in between.
- As soon as the water that came out of it seemed to dried up, add the mustard paste, green chilli paste and the sugar. Let it be a beat sweetish.
- Mix them very well. Now toss it in a high flame.
- Once you see it has been fried well, add 1 teaspoon of mustard oil and remove it from the flame. Serve hot. You may garnish it with some coriander leaves and lemon
Chop Snake gourd recipe - Snake gourd is a vegetable used in Indian cuisine and goes by the name padawal in hindi, potlakaya in telugu and pudalangai in tamil. It is most commonly used to make stir fry, curry or added to curd chutney. Snake gourd has a very strong smell & tastes pretty bland.
