My Children’s Parfait is one of the most popular of recent trending foods in the world. It’s simple, it is quick, it tastes delicious. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. My Children’s Parfait is something which I’ve loved my entire life. They are fine and they look fantastic.
This is the dessert that my children used to make by themselves when they were young. While we were living in Japan for a short period of time, my children fell in love with Japanese style parfait, made by layering jelly, whipped cream, ice cream, and fruit, usually served in a tall glass.. To begin with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can have my children’s parfait using 13 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook it.
The ingredients needed to make My Children’s Parfait:
- Take 1 box Instant Jelly Granules
- Prepare *Note: Today I used 'Aeroplane' Jelly Strawberry Flavour. It make 500ml jelly
- Take Fresh OR Canned Fruit
- Get 1/2 cup Thickened Cream *whipped with 1 tablespoon Caster Sugar
- Prepare A few slices Sponge Cake *OR some Cookies, ‘Savoiardi’, or etc
- Prepare Ice Cream
- Take Extra Topping *e.g. ‘Pocky’ Sticks, Wafer Sticks, Nuts, etc
- Prepare <Soft Custard>
- Get 1 cup Milk
- Get 2 Egg Yolks
- Take 2-3 tablespoons Sugar
- Prepare 1 tablespoon Plain Flour
- Get 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
To counteract my children's hungry moments, I like to provide them with foods I know we can eat on the go, in front of their favorite TV show, or right when they wake up from a nap and are in prime snuggle-with-Mom mode! Like these make ahead yogurt parfaits. Parfait might sound like a decadent dessert, but with a few small tweaks you can serve this treat for a nutritious breakfast or an after-school snack. Instructions to make My Children’s Parfait:
- Make jelly according to the instruction. Place into serving glasses, add some fruit, and allow to set in the fridge. *Note: You may not need all jelly depending on the size of the glasses.
- To make Soft Custard, place all ingredients in a heat-proof bowl and whisk well. Cook in the microwave at medium power about 500W for 2 minutes. Mix well, then cook again at medium power for 2 minutes and mix well, and cook again for 1 minute and mix well.
- *Note: Naturally you can cook custard in a saucepan. Combine Egg Yolks, Sugar and Flour in a saucepan. Then add warmed Milk and mix well. Cook over a medium to low heat, stirring constantly until custard comes to the boil and thickens.
- Allow the soft custard to cool, then chill in the fridge.
- When the jelly is set, soft custard is chilled and cream is whipped, construct your own parfait.
- *Note: Today I layered custard and sponge cake pieces on top of jelly, covered with whipped cream, topped with vanilla ice cream and fruit, then I added children’s favourite ‘Pocky’ sticks.
Raspberry Parfait Dessert is a creamy, cool dessert that's a welcome little treat during Summer's heat. It's easy to put together and waits in your refrigerator until your ready to serve it.
