To begin with this recipe, we must first prepare a few ingredients. You can have samosa using 15 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Samosa:
  1. Take 1 cup Flour
  2. Prepare 1 tsp Ajwain/ Carom seeds
  3. Get as required Salt
  4. Take 2 tbsp Ghee/ Oil
  5. Get as required Water to knead
  6. Take 2 boiled Potatoes
  7. Get 1 tsp Fennel
  8. Take 1 tsp Coriander Seeds
  9. Take 1 tsp Cumin
  10. Get 1/4 Turmeric Powder
  11. Take 1/4 Red Chilli Powder
  12. Make ready 1/4 tsp Garam Massla Powder
  13. Get 1 tsp Ginger Green chilli Crushed
  14. Get as needed Cashews and Raisins few optional
  15. Get as required Oil for deep fry

In a medium bowl, mix flour, salt and butter until the mixture resembles fine bread crumbs. Samosa is an amazing and mouthwatering Indian appetizer made with a spiced potatoes filling. It's a popular street food in India, sold by street vendors. The filling is wrapped using Samosa wrappers into triangle cone shapes.

Steps to make Samosa:
  1. Take flour in a bowl with Ajwain, Salt and Ghee. Mix well like bread crumbs. Sprinkle water and make a smooth yet tight dough. Keep aside covered until you prepare the filling.
  2. Heat a pan with a tbsp of oil. Add cahews, raisins, crushed cumin, coriander and fennel. Add ginger and green chilli crushed. Lower the flame and add all spice powders. Mix well and then add the boiled potatoes. Nicely mix everything. In the end add chopped coriander leaves. Keep aside to cool.
  3. Now take a small portion of dough and roll into poori size circle. Cut into half. Take one half and apply water on sides. Now roll and join the sides to form like a cone. Stuff with filling and seal it. Prepare all your samosa and keep aside.
  4. Take a khadayi will enough oil for deep fry. When the oil gets heated, keep the flame low and drop samosa into it. Fry on low flame until crisp and turns to nice golden colour. Serve hot with Tomato Ketchup or Green Chutney.

Beef and potatoes are the main ingredients folded inside these wonderful deep fried samosas. Chicken livers may be substituted for beef, if you choose. My friend from Bangladesh gave me this savory, spicy recipe. Samosa or Singhara as it is called in Bengal and Bihar is a delicious Indian snack that is a universal favourite. A perfect samosa has a crisp exterior made of flour and savory potato filling inside.
