This Thai Basil Chicken (Gai Pad Krapow) is one of. Pad Gaprao (Pad Kra Pao) ผัดกะเพรา Chicken Stir-Fry with Holy Basil. This popular Thai dish has many English spellings: Pad Kra Pao, Pad Ka Prao, Pad Ka Pow, Pad Krapow…etc. "Pad gaprao" is the phonetically closest spelling, but it seems to be the least popular way because most Thai people. Add basil and remove from heat.
Instructions to make Minced Meat with Basil (Pad Kra Pao Gai):
- In a wok, add garlic, shallots and chilies in and cook for about 20 seconds.(no need to use any oil).
- Add meat in and cook until they turn browny.
- Add dark soya sauce and fish sauce. Stir fry for another 30 seconds. Add french beans in.
- Add sugar in.
- Once cooked, turn off the heat, and add basil leaves in.
- Done. Serve with rice and a fried egg on it.
